July 8, 2009 - Bolt Locking Standard Pipe Float
Rotonics Manufacturing Inc., a well-known supplier of pipe floats to the Dredging, Construction, Mining, Aggregate, and Sand and Gravel industries, introduces the newly improved Bolt Locking Standard Pipe Float series. Available in 11 different sizes, these Pipe Floats provide flotation for pipelines or hoses ranging from 6 to 26 inches in size and feature strong, double-walled, recessed, molded-in bolt channels. Their field performance has received rave reviews for their simple assembly, durability, and secure attachment.
Rotonics Rivers and Waterways Sales Engineer Terri Carruth attributes these products’ high demand to their more convenient redesign. The original models, she said, utilized strap attachments which were cumbersome to install and did not hold up as well in harsh water conditions. Attaching the floats to a pipeline or hose via a bolt lock eliminates the need to perform often difficult strap adjustments and ensures an easy yet secure attachment to pipelines.
Like all of Rotonics’ Pipe and Line Floats, the revamped Standard Pipe Floats are made with high-impact, UV-stabilized polyethylene. Their interiors contain two pound high-density polyurethane foam that exceeds the United States Coast Guard’s strict regulations for buoyancy. Bolt Locking Floats resist chemical and fuel corrosion as well as freezing temperatures, and can be custom engineered to fit specified needs.
